Violence is one of the issues that have been on the agenda especially recently. Because of a very popular topic, I feel the need to question its reasons. Of course, most events that result in violence do not occur out of nowhere, they have a pattern of various causes. There are many methods of communication, and we use them to express our desires and needs. Of course, we need to communicate in order to achieve a violent outcome. Therefore, I think that all kinds of violence can be prevented by the interventions we will make in our communication style.

Why do we need violence first, maybe we need to think about it. Is violence inherent in humanity? The definition of naturalness is quite clear in the presentation made by Altuğ Coşkun. If we can question what exists and find the reason for it, what we question is actually not natural. In this sentence, I interpret the interpretation that naturalness is actually caused by instinctive situations that we question and cannot find an answer to. I think we can question the existence and cause of violence. Therefore, I think it is preventable.

As I mentioned before, maybe we can get rid of all forms of violence by improving the way we communicate and our methods. Non-Violent Communication basically advocates that communication is made in peace and quiet and seeks ways to do so.

We are all human beings, and we naturally have needs and desires to live. In fact, we realize the main reason of most communication we have established because we want to express these needs and desires and to be perceived by others. This situation can occur directly or indirectly. However, the difficulties that may arise in communication create thoughts in the people that these needs and desires cannot be met. These problems may be behaviors such as not listening to people, not being empathetic, respect and stance towards people, not focusing on shared issues. The reactions people give to these are shaped depending on the cultural and psychological environment in which they grew up.

Polarization is the main problem for the occurrence of violence in solving existing problems. Scientifically, determining right, wrong, right or wrong may seem to solve the existing problems, but it will lead to the emergence of brand new problems. As in justice, guilty and innocent should also be defended. They have thoughts, needs, and desires on both sides. If the solution is produced according to the right or wrong while reaching a compromise, it will always continue to do wrong, if the right is always right and wrong. The trucks that distribute Coca Cola emit 3.7 million metric tons of green house gases into the atmosphere. In this way, he showed the public his effort for a sustainable atmosphere while making a profit from the money paid for fossil fuels.

Another well-known company, Lego, has restricted the use of plastic material, which preserves its structure in nature for many years, because the raw material of the plastic used in the production of its products is plant-based. They have reduced the environmental pollution that may occur in the world from their perspective and showed us that they support a more sustainable environment.

We can say that corporate social responsiblity practices are beneficial for all segments in many areas. On the basis of the strategies, human, planet and profit appear as common values. Therefore, these concepts should be served when creating a strategy. People show sensitivity to the fairness of the labor spent while doing a job. In this respect, it is very important to be fair in the effort spent. The planet must be sustained environmentally. It should be ensured that the environmental opportunities we have are passed on to future generations. Profit will undoubtedly be the expectation of the person or people who created these strategies. Today, there is no expected move to be made without a profit. The strategies that the companies I mentioned above have produced with this concern undoubtedly have a positive contribution to everyone.

There is no doubt that Corporate social responsiblity practices benefit everyone in many areas. Therefore, we should support companies and firms with these and similar concerns as individuals or small communities. If we have a large corporation, we can collaborate to create strategies with these concerns and create a more sustainable society, planet and companies.

Sustainable Social Society with Volunteers

I always think that volunteering is an important way for active citizens who examine society and the environment to develop and strive for a more sustainable future. In voluntary work, it is known to directly contribute to the change of social problems in the environment. The effort spent and the activities carried out will cause the person to know himself, develop himself and feel himself belonging to the society he is in. I think our youth when we were uncertain, insecure and invisible are perhaps the best times for such activities.

Volunteer-based activities will allow us to build ourselves faster in this period, when we are gradually gaining our own character and questioning our environment and society. The effort we have in our youth allows individuals to develop skills such as making critical decisions, solving complex problems and taking an active role in teamwork by spending these social volunteering activities. This kind of skill development, which I have mentioned, gives people experience not only to solve social society problems for active individuals, but also to overcome problems encountered in professional life. Most people want to see their energy pay off. Most of us want this money economically, that is, they want to earn money. However, money cannot buy life experience, so volunteering-based work gives an active individual treasures more valuable than material.

 Thanks to the volunteering-based works, the voice of any minority segment that experiences inequality in the society can be heard and thus the social problems of the society can be brought to light and a solution proposal can be requested. People belonging to these minorities may have been subjected to class distinctions such as age, language, religion, race, gender and gender. However, along with volunteering, they work in an integrated environment without considering these distinctions. In this way, they can make a great contribution to the elimination of social problems. In addition, this effort he makes for the community they do not feel belonging at the beginning will provide them a sense of belonging. In this way, wherever they are in the world, everywhere will be the places they belong to.

Volunteering may not be very attractive to people at first. After all, you take time and energy from yourself and fight for these things. Sometimes you may think that the reward for such jobs will not meet your expectations directly. Therefore, people often state that they cannot or cannot find the necessary opportunity in volunteering-based jobs. I think we should increase the opportunities of volunteering activities for these people and show them the advantages of these jobs much more clearly. Studying in school no longer allows us to find a job easily. Therefore, students can be directed to volunteer-based jobs as a secondary education system at a young age. In this way, it can be ensured that they have acquired an environment at a young age and at the same time, the opportunities they have expected or could not create throughout their lives. I feel the need to tell you the general situation of humanity in recent years from my point of view. I want to talk about this situation by ignoring the general problems in the geography we have lived in. We are all passengers of the same ship on this cruise. Although we are located at a distance from each other, the decisions we take as a community have an effect on each other. I see the globally existing problems as the sea water that wants to sink the ship we are involved in. Global poverty, climate change, gender discrimination etc. Many global problems actually cause us to collapse. Although they are seen as separate problems, we can see that they are actually quite interconnected problems. The consequences of the factors created by us by each global problem may have different consequences on humanity, and worst of all, these results reveal other global problems. This result may be related to climate change, as a possible migration situation that may occur due to gender discrimination will simply affect the consumption of natural resources in the regions where people are settled.

We can say that humanity wants to solve global problems with a number of methods, positively and negatively. However, we cannot say that global problems have disappeared completely today. Recently, active citizenship and world citizenship are seen as a method that will enable us to successfully solve the global problems created by humanity. The main goal of this solution method is to act as an active citizen to develop the community in which we exist and to take actions that will make the world a more livable environment. Again, some actions set out with these goals have taken their place in history. Cleaning operations were carried out in order to turn poverty environments into more livable environments and even money donations were provided to overcome poverty. However, it is not even sincere that these aids and actions are repeated unless the root of the problem is solved. In the face of these conditions, we should all be active citizens of the world and speak out in order to interpret this system and turn our decisions into a more appropriate and fair system. I think we should not waste time solving problems that will repeat themselves superficially by establishing an association and collecting donations.

I think we need to be skeptical in all areas as we exist. We must see the shortcomings of the system we are in and offer solutions as an active individual. I guarantee that we will never find ourselves alone on this road. 18% of the world population is seen as sensitive to global problems. This is not because people are indifferent to such activities, but because people don’t know how to behave.

Music is a method used in the USA. The revenues and aids obtained from the concert weeks with the participation of famous musicians were taken for these purposes. However, at the same time, users were asked to take an active role. Those who wanted to go to these concerts were asked to do some activities by them instead of buying tickets. Such as presentations, shows and entertainment to increase social awareness. In this way, we can say that the participants act towards solutions to global problems.

We are experiencing minor problems due to the geography we are in. However, if we do not see the large-scale problem, even if we solve small-scale problems, it will not make sense for us. So let’s be aware.

Wake the Youth Activism

Focusing on the concepts of citizenship and active citizenship before the concept of active youth will be fruitful for the whole article. Citizenship is basically membership that has various rights within the borders of a country and we are responsible for the protection of these rights with restrictions. Every member is given political and civil rights by the government of the country, and we are expected to respect the rights of other members of the community in which I belong. Active citizenship, on the other hand, basically consists of behaviors, organizations and actions to increase the life standards of the community in which we are involved. These behaviors can be defined as volunteer-based jobs that will increase our standards, strategic moves that will contribute to the economy, and (etc).

These qualities of young people provide them with advantages in many ways. However, at the same time, it increases its responsibilities within the society in direct proportion. They should be able to critically approach the society in which they have this power and make analytical decisions and make an effort for the development of the society and the improvement of their living standards. Many adults think that young people live in isolation from the real world, with their own world. However, it is also a fact that young people have much more social power than they think. As of today, the information sharing speed of young people is much improved and faster than that of adults. The speed of sharing that young people have enables them to organize together much more easily than adults. Young people need to be aware of this power they have.    

We should ensure that young people are as active as possible in any field that will improve the society we exist in. You might think there are enough adults in these areas. However, I will have some suggestions for comparing the productivity of existing adults with young people. With the simplest example, an adult environmentalist actor who thinks about the development of society in these areas will be able to mislead the society about that person. The perception that that person has made such a development in line with his own interests can easily be formed. However, if you are a university student, what kind of benefit could it be from this situation? With a simple example I have given, I present to your honor the decision of the efficiency of an adult and young individual in areas aimed at such community development.

Directing young people in society to such areas should be one of our main concerns. Responsibility pressure for many areas on young people is at the main point in terms of correcting this situation. It struggles with the pressure of young people to be successful in sports, music, education and many other fields. Therefore, the time period in which he can engage with the concept of active citizenship is seen as very little. Looking from another perspective, the lack of communication between young people and trainers can be taken into account. I think that instead of the definitive dominant suggestions of the trainers, they present their views in the current situation and leave the young people’s decision to the young people will help young people take an active role in increasing the social earnings.

To summarize, I think that young people’s power to improve and change society and the environment will be much more effective than adults. Adults need to be innovative and pioneering, instead of putting pressure on young people and telling them what to do for this purpose. Young people need to realize what they have and move towards fulfilling their responsibilities on behalf of society, and they should be a part of this society.
