The final countdown was finished and It is the final!!! This is the first final experience in our architectural student life and It was so amazing, nervous and painful. During the preparation process, due to requirement list of the final jury, most of us probably had nervous time period. The reason for this is, the drawings that we were expected took high percentage of our time. That’s why everyone was so stressful. Also , while we were building our model for the jury, the pins that we used for keeping together the elements was torture our fingers because some them was unavailable for that usage and we had a really challenging and painful time.Even though all of these, seeing that we were rewarded for our efforts in final was so amazing thing for me.That’s why, I really appreciate for everyone that showed their effort for the final.
Final Construct
Pre-Jury Construct
Yessss, It is time to start explaining my final construct to you.If you read the previous entries such as pre-jury, you are able to understand easily our concept because it has a still same strategy and tactics. However, I am going to mention about it shortly. In my final construct, there is one dense centre that was based on a vertical gap and one sparse centre that was based on a horizontal gap.(In the axonometric drawing, blue part is present vertical gap centre pattern, red part is also horizontal gap centre pattern and yellow is isolated gap). When you look at the middle of these gaps, you can see another gap which provide to isolation strategy. If we compare with pre- jury model, I used the long elements to isolate these two gap centres however, I decided that this idea is not enough to isolation for these two gaps. Long elements just separate centres from each other. That’s why, Instead of long elements, creating a gap for isolation is appropriate for my approach because It also provides a distance between centers and isolation ideas come up more legible and logical.
In terms of density, my approach was creating strong secondary relationship like initial relationship for density in my vertical gap center. My sticks are so vital for that quality because increasing the strength of the secondary relationship is providing with them. In the dense part, you are able to see very short distance between sticks and planar elements and this is the idea of the increasing strength of the secondary relationship. Opposite of this idea is valid for sparse, you are able to see long distance between planar elements and sticks and that is supplying weak second relationship.
The key of the terms that is based on all my experience is that creating your own building system for your works or construct.
